The hospital campus will expand critical services and drive economic growth across the Mid-South.

In Memphis, Regional One Health has announced plans for a new hospital campus in the city's historic Edge District, a once-in-a-generation investment designed to expand critical services and strengthen community access to care.

The projected scope includes a Bed Tower, Trauma and Burn, Women and Infants, an expanded emergency department, Post-Acute Services, Oncology, and modernized ancillary service suites, reflecting a shared commitment to building a healthier future for the Mid-South.

Memphis Healthcare Builders, a joint venture leading construction management for the landmark project, includes Turner, Flintco, Nickson General Contractors, and Fifer & Associates. This partnership unites national expertise with local excellence to deliver one of the most impactful healthcare projects in Mid-South history.

Memphis Healthcare Builders was formed to ensure that this investment in health also becomes an investment in Memphis. By combining nationally recognized builders with local firms, the project model centers on benefitting the community - strengthening Memphis businesses, growing local capacity, and building a hospital that will serve the community for generations.

HDR, based in Omaha, Nebraska, is leading architectural design in partnership with Memphis firms Self + Tucker Architects, brg3s Architects, METICULOUS, and Cornerstone. Magnusson Klemencic Associates of Seattle will serve as structural engineers, while Salas O'Brien of Irvine, California, will oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems in collaboration with Innovative Engineering Services of Memphis. Together, these partners are designing a facility that reflects both the city's character and Regional One Health's mission to provide exceptional care in Memphis.

The project will expand trauma, burn, and women's health services while modernizing spaces for emergency care, oncology, and post-acute services. As the only Level 1 Trauma Center within 150 miles and the only verified burn center within 200 miles, Regional One Health treats more than 14,000 trauma patients each year.

Beyond its clinical significance, the project will drive measurable economic impact. Early estimates project the creation of 3,600 construction jobs and 2,300 secondary jobs, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in regional growth over the next several years and reinforcing the Mid-South as a hub for healthcare innovation and investment.

With design and preconstruction already underway, Regional One Health's new Edge District hospital represents a milestone for Memphis. Once complete, the facility will stand as an example of what can be achieved through partnership, vision, and shared purpose, a place where advanced care meets industry-leading design and construction.

For Turner, this project builds on more than a century of leadership in healthcare construction. Our teams have spent generations shaping spaces that elevate care and empower those who provide it. As part of Memphis Healthcare Builders, we're proud to continue that legacy and build the future of healthcare.
