Spain's Minister for Equality Donates to the OAS Columbus Memorial Library's Women Authors Collection

Spain's Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo, made a donation this week to the "Women Authors Collection" of the Columbus Memorial Library of the Organization of American States (OAS). The initiative, launched by the Permanent Observer Mission of Spain to the OAS in March of this year as part of the commemoration of International Women's Day, aims to highlight the work of distinguished women authors and promote access to their intellectual and artistic legacy.
Minister Redondo presented to the OAS Assistant Secretary General, Ambassador Laura Gil, three copies of the catalog The Prado in Feminine, a publication by the Museo Nacional del Prado that brings together the perspectives and works of women connected to one of the world's most important art museums. The publication now becomes part of the Columbus Memorial Library's collection as a contribution to the shared bibliographic and cultural heritage between Spain and the Americas.
The event was attended by Spain's Minister for Equality, Ana Redondo; Spain's Permanent Observer to the OAS, Ambassador Carmen Montón; the OAS Assistant Secretary General, Ambassador Laura Gil; and the Officer in Charge of the Columbus Memorial Library, Rocío Suárez. The event underscored the value of the "Women Authors Collection" as a space that recognizes women's contributions to culture, thought, and literature, and reaffirmed the shared commitment to equality and cultural cooperation within the inter-American system.
