Spectrum Expands Fiber Broadband Network in Missoula County, Montana, Offering Gigabit Broadband, Mobile, TV and Voice Services

MISSOULA, Mont. - Spectrum, the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, today announced the expansion of its fiber broadband network to bring Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 1,400 additional homes and businesses in previously unserved or underserved areas of Missoula County, Montana, including Frenchtown and Huson. This expansion was made possible by the State of Montana's ConnectMT program, which is designed to expand access to high-speed broadband in rural communities.

This project is part of Spectrum's multi-year rural construction initiative, which is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from Spectrum and will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speed internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.

"Spectrum is bringing gigabit broadband to rural communities in Missoula County and across America," said Tyler Olson, Area Vice President, Field Operations for Charter Communications, which operates the Spectrum brand of connectivity services. "Our investment is providing residents and small businesses superior connectivity at highly competitive prices, backed by a team of skilled local technicians and 100% U.S.-based customer service."

"Expanding access to high-speed broadband is exactly why we invested in this grant program," said Sen. Denley Loge (HD-14). "Projects like this ensure rural and underserved communities in Missoula County are not left behind. Reliable, fiber-based internet is essential for education, health care, business growth and public safety, and it's encouraging to see these investments translating into real infrastructure and real connections for families and employers."

Spectrum Internet delivers speeds up to 1 Gbps and Advanced WiFi for residential and business customers, featuring starting speeds of 500 Mbps, with no modem fees, data caps or contracts. The company has also begun a network evolution that will provide gigabit upstream speeds and multiple gigabit download speeds across its entire 41-state service area.

Spectrum Internet exceeded advertised download and upload speeds for all tiers measured - even during peak weeknight usage between 7 and 11 p.m. - according to the FCC's most recent "Measuring Broadband America Fixed Broadband Report."

"Fast, reliable internet is no longer a luxury - it's essential infrastructure," said Missoula County Commissioner Joshua Slotnick. "Spectrum's fiber expansion will help residents, small businesses, and students fully participate in today's digital economy, while also giving people more choice for broadband and mobile services. This investment positions our community to meet growing connectivity needs well into the future."
