The President congratulated Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg

Gitanas Nausėda congratulated His Royal Highness Guillaume on his accession as Grand Duke of Luxembourg, wishing him every success and strength in carrying out his important duties and serving the people of his country.

"I am pleased that Lithuania and Luxembourg are like-minded nations, working together successfully within NATO, the European Union and other multilateral formats. We deeply appreciate your country's contribution to the security of our region, including the deployment of Luxembourg troops to NATO's forward presence battlegroup and your financial support for adapting the Baltic States' military infrastructure to allied needs," the President wrote in his message of congratulations.

President Nausėda expressed his hope that during the Grand Duke's reign, Lithuania and Luxembourg will further strengthen their bilateral relations - expanding cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, continuing international engagement based on democratic values, and working to safeguard the security and well-being of their people.

The President also invited the Grand Duke to visit Lithuania: "I believe such a visit would give fresh impetus to our dialogue and bring our two nations even closer together."
