TAMPA, FL. (March 30, 2026) - - At around 12:00 p.m., on March 30, 2026, Tampa Police recovered the body of an adult male who was last seen paddleboarding over the weekend.

On March 29, 2026, just after 9:00 p.m., Tampa Police were notified of a missing person by the subject's family. According to the family, his last known location was paddleboarding near the 7700 block of W Courtney Campbell Causeway at around 4:00 p.m., on March 28, 2026.

Once conditions and visibility improved, a search and rescue operation was immediately initiated on the morning of March 30, 2026. Tampa Police specialty units and numerous partner agencies assisted with identifying several search areas, including Old Tampa Bay near the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

At around 11:00 a.m., members of the Tampa Police Marine Unit located the subject's paddleboard and other property on the west side of Old Tampa Bay. Just an hour later, at 12:00 p.m., the decedent's body was recovered by the Courtney Campbell Causeway bridge.

Positive identification and next of kin notification are still pending.

At this time, foul play does not appear to be a factor.
