Earthquake in Indonesia

The Brazilian government has learned with regret of the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck the coast of Flores Island, Indonesia, early Saturday morning (August 15), local time. There are reports of dozens of deaths and injuries, as well as significant material damage.

In expressing its condolences to the victims' families, the Brazilian government conveys its solidarity with the government and people of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as with the communities affected by the natural disaster.
