Vacancies announced for the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board

Applications are due by 3 p.m. Feb. 18, 2026

Applications are being accepted to fill two vacancies on the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board (PCCLB). The PCCLB consists of 15 members from various trades, along with building officials, a fire official and two consumer representatives.

The PCCLB seeks candidates in the following areas:

Residential Contractor: Must be licensed to do business in the state and actively engaged in the profession. The appointee will complete a current four-year term expiring September 2026 and will be eligible to reapply.

South County Building Official: Must be from Gulfport, Kenneth City, Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Seminole or South Pasadena. Government building officials are not subject to term limits.

All PCCLB members are appointed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and must be residents of Pinellas County, except for building officials. Excluding the building official, architect and consumer members, all appointees must personally hold a current license issued by St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Pinellas County or the state of Florida at the time of appointment. They must live in the county and have actively worked in their business or profession for at least five consecutive years.

Board members serve four-year terms and cannot serve two consecutive terms. They can be reappointed after a two-year hiatus. This term limit does not apply to government building or fire officials. The board also elects a chair and vice chair to serve two-year terms.

Each member must file an annual financial disclosure Form 1 by July 1 for the prior year, pursuant to Florida Statute 112.3145. Visit the Florida Commission on Ethics for more information on limited financial disclosure requirements. Members must also comply with the County's Standards for Conduct for Citizen Appointees.

Applications are available on the Boards, Councils and Committees page on pinellas.gov. Applications must be received by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. The BCC will review all applications and make its selection at an upcoming meeting.
