The Netherlands commended, on Friday, the reforms undertaken by Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, as well as the Royal Regional Initiatives.

In a Joint Statement adopted following a meeting in The Hague between the minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and his Dutch peer, David Van Weel, the Netherlands praised the progress made by Morocco, mainly the ambitious reforms implemented under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

The Netherlands thus highlighted the Kingdom's efforts for political, economic and social development, mainly through the New Development Model, the Family Code reform, as well as Advanced Regionalization.

The Dutch side also expressed great interest for the Atlantic Initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the African continent, citing the Atlantic African States Process Initiative, the Royal Initiative to provide Sahel states with access to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline project.

The Joint Statement underlines that these initiatives aim to turn the Atlantic African space into a favorable geostrategic framework for intra-African development and for the Continent's stability and prosperity.

The Netherlands also hailed the constructive role played by Morocco in the Middle East, paying tribute to the personal commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in His quality as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
