On February 25, in Geneva, on the margins of the 61st Session of the UN Human Rights Council, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with the newly elected President of the UN Human Rights Council, Permanent Representative of Indonesia Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisogomonyan reaffirmed Armenia's position on enhancing the institutional capacity of the HRC and the need to аugment resources for the effective functioning of its mechanisms and the fulfillment of its mandates.

During the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia presented details regarding the biennial thematic resolution "On the Prevention of Genocide", which Armenia will table at the current session of the UN Human Rights Council. It was emphasized that the resolution is aimed at early warning of genocide, other mass atrocities, and crimes against humanity, strengthening mechanisms for their prevention, and consolidating the efforts of the international community in this domain.
