In recognition of National Consumer Protection Week, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) updated its consumer education brochure to help residents better understand the PUC's role, the industries it regulates, and the resources available to assist consumers.
The brochure explains how the PUC reviews utility requests, the ways members of the public can stay informed and engaged, and how to file a complaint against a regulated entity. It also highlights its programs that support consumers across the state.
PUC staff shared the updated brochure at the Consumer Protection Fair held March 5 at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol, joining other state and federal agencies in raising awareness about consumer rights and helping attendees understand where to find trustworthy information and assistance.
The updated consumer education brochure is available for download and sharing.
