Shortly before 4:30 a.m., police officers responded to an alarm at Glamorgan School.
Outside the school, officers found signs of forced entry, including broken glass and a smashed window. Police called for additional officers, including a police dog team.
During the search of the school, officers encountered a suspect. Officers briefly withdrew before re-entering the school with a police dog, announcing their presence as they continued searching for the suspect or suspects.
A short time later, the dog located a suspect and bit her during an encounter that followed. Emergency medical services were called, and paramedics later transported the young woman to Alberta Children's Hospital for treatment.
