Defence Secretary delivers lecture at NDC

Sharing his expertise and wisdom, Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) delivered a lecture to student officers at the National Defence College (NDC) in Colombo today (Nov 7).

Defence Secretary delivered this annual lecture at the invitation of the Commandant NDC, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, who warmly received the Defence Secretary upon his arrival at the NDC in Colombo this morning.

Defence Secretary delivered the lecture on 'Role of Military in Addressing Contemporary National Security Challenges in Sri Lanka' and the lecture session was conducted as part of the National Security and Strategic Studies course curriculum.

Inaugurated in 2021, the NDC aims to develop future policymakers in the fields of national security, statecraft, governance, diplomacy, and international security, thereby strengthening the national security mechanism.

Mementoes were also shared at the end of the session and the Defence Ministry's Military Liaison Officer, Air Vice Marshal Padman De Costa, was also present at the occasion.
