Olean, NY - Olean General Hospital (OGH), a Kaleida Health facility, is proud to announce that Mohaned Al-Humadi, MD, orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine, has been awarded the second biannual 2026 Golden Stethoscope Award. Dr. Al-Humadi received numerous nominations showcasing his commitment to excellence and quality care.

The Golden Stethoscope Award is based on nominations from employees and is presented semi-annually to a physician who exhibits an exceptional level of professionalism, integrity and teamwork in caring for patients and families, as well as interacting with hospital staff members and fellow physicians. The award recognizes a physician throughout OGH and physician practices who demonstrates a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

"Dr. Mohaned Al-Humadi is an exceptional physician and surgeon whose compassion, dedication and commitment to his patients, staff and community exemplify the qualities of the Golden Stethoscope Award. He has a unique ability to bring comfort during difficult circumstances, instill confidence when there is uncertainty and offer hope when it is needed most. He takes the time to truly listen, understand each patient's concerns and explain their care in a way that makes them feel heard, respected and confident," said one nomination.

Nominations continued, "Dr. Al-Humadi consistently goes above and beyond for his patients. He treats each person with genuine compassion and respect, focusing not only on their medical condition but on the individual behind it. His passion for medicine and commitment to excellent care have earned the trust of patients from throughout the region and beyond, including individuals who travel from New York City to receive surgical care from him."

"His compassion extends equally to his staff and colleagues. He is approachable, supportive and always willing to answer questions, teach others and offer encouragement. He recognizes the important role every team member plays in patient care and makes people feel valued and appreciated. His leadership is demonstrated through his professionalism, humility, strong work ethic and willingness to help others," added another nomination.

"After completing his education and training, Dr. Al-Humadi chose to return home to practice medicine and serve the community where he grew up. His clinical expertise, genuine kindness and dedication to those around him have made a lasting difference in the lives of his patients, families and colleagues," continued another nomination. "He is not only an outstanding physician, but an exceptional colleague, mentor and leader who truly represents the spirit of the Golden Stethoscope Award."

A native of Olean, NY, Dr. Al-Humadi has been practicing orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine at OGH since 2011. He earned his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY, and a fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.

Dr. Al-Humadi is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has served on the medical teams for the New York Jets and New York Islanders. Currently, he is the head orthopaedic surgeon and team physician for St. Bonaventure University athletics, a role he has held since 2012.
