Daytime and Overnight Lane & Ramp Closures Scheduled on U.S. 101 in San Mateo County

Intermittent closures through September 30

San Mateo County ― Caltrans has scheduled intermittent ramp and lane closures of U.S. 101 in San Mateo County so that crews can perform lane striping, guardrail, and electrical work. This phase of the work will continue through Wednesday, September 30.

Intermittent Nighttime Lane Closures from 9 p.m. ― 5 a.m. on the following weeknights:

Northbound U.S. 101

• Tuesday, September 8 through Thursday, September 30

Southbound U.S. 101

• Tuesday, September 8 through Thursday, September 30

Intermittent Daytime Ramp Closures: 7 a.m. ― 3 p.m.

Partial ramp closures will continue within the project limits between South San Francisco and East Palo Alto from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. so that crews can perform curb ramp upgrades.

All work is weather dependent. Drivers should follow posted detour signs when ramps are closed.

This work is part of the $177M U.S. 101 (San Mateo County) Multi-Asset Rehabilitation & Roadside Safety Project. The project scope includes paving, guardrail improvements, transportation management system enhancements, drainage upgrades, and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps. The project will bring operational improvements and promote economic vitality in the region. The project is funded by the State's Highway Operation and Protection Plan (SHOPP), a "fix-it-first" program that funds California highway repair and preservation.
