Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Kong Xianhua Meets with Delegation of the Foundation of Eydhafushi Youth Linkage

On December 24, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Mr. Kong Xianhua met with Mr. Ali Nazeer, President of the Foundation of Eydhafushi Youth Linkage and his team.

Nazeer said that he pays close attention to the successful practices of Chinese NGOs in grassroots governance, and hopes to learn from China's experience. He expressed expectations for greater support from the Chinese side in areas such as agricultural development, preschool education, and the improvement of medical and health conditions in Eydhafushi.

Ambassador Kong noted that he had recently visited Eydhafushi for on-site research and was deeply impressed by the warmth and friendliness of the local people, as well as by the Foundation's long-term, pragmatic efforts devoted to community development. He commended the Foundation for its contributions to improving people's livelihoods and promoting sustainable development.

Ambassador Kong said that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee had just been convened, at which China's 15th Five-Year Plan recommendations were adopted. The concepts and experiences emphasized in these recommendations-such as coordinating development and people's well-being and advancing grassroots governance-offer important reference value for community development in the Maldives. China is willing to actively explore new opportunities for local and people-to-people cooperation between China and the Maldives, so as to continue delivering benefits to the peoples of both countries.
