The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has begun public consultation on proposed amendments to Malaysia's Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA), with the proposed amendments including the management and administration of electronic addressing resources.
MCMC is the communications regulator in Malaysia. The proposed amendments include:
The proposed amendments to the CMA are contained in a Public Consultation Paper published on MCMC's website.
MCMC is seeking feedback on the proposed amendments to the CMA, with the closing date for comments being 10 July 2026 at 17:00 (UTC +8).
We encourage all APNIC Members in Malaysia to read the paper and submit any comments they may have to MCMC before the closing date.
Submissions can be provided to MCMC electronically via email or in hard copy. For full instructions on providing feedback, please refer to page 28 of the Paper. APNIC intends to submit feedback in response to the Paper.
