UH Adler Bereavement Programs Host 4th Annual Remembrance Walk for Families Who Have Lost a Child

CLEVELAND - July is International Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, and University Hospitals is marking the occasion with its fourth annual Remembrance Walk. The Joanie & Tom Adler Bereavement Programs at UH MacDonald Women's Hospital and UH Rainbow Babies & Children's, along with the Auxiliary of University Hospitals, invite parents, family members, friends, and UH staff to gather in memory of a precious baby or child.

When: Saturday, July 18

  • 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. | Registration
  • 8:30 a.m. | Remembrance Program, followed by a one mile walk through the zoo

Where: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland

About the Walk

Losing a child is one of life's most devastating experiences, and grief can feel overwhelming. The Remembrance Walk offers families a meaningful space to honor their child and connect with others who understand their journey.

UH's patient- and family-centered approach to grief support means every family receives personalized resources tailored to their unique needs. UH remains connected with families in the weeks, months, and years following a loss, providing ongoing services and support as needed. The program is made possible through a generous gift from the Adler family, which established the UH Joanie & Tom Adler Endowed Director of Parent Bereavement Programs.

Event Details
