Celebrating CalFresh Awareness Month in Napa County

This May, Napa County is pleased to observe CalFresh Awareness Month-an annual time to spotlight the transformative power of the CalFresh program and its vital role in strengthening our community.

CalFresh, known federally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), provides eligible households with food benefits that can be used to buy fresh, nutritious groceries. These benefits not only nourish households but also energize our local economy by supporting farmers' markets, grocery stores, and food vendors throughout Napa County.

The impact of CalFresh extends far beyond individual tables. When families have consistent access to healthy food, children thrive, seniors live with dignity, and households gain the stability they need to focus on work, education, and wellness. Simply put, CalFresh helps build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient Napa County.

If you or someone you know could benefit from CalFresh, take the first step today! Visit the Napa County Self Sufficiency Services (SSS) web page or contact SSS to learn more about eligibility and how to apply.

Let's work together this month to ensure all members of our community have access to the food they need!
