Powertrust announced an agreement with Microsoft to deploy 270 MW of distributed solar energy in Mexico and Brazil over the next four years.

Microsoft creates platforms and tools powered by AI to deliver innovative solutions. The partnership supports Microsoft's goal to become carbon negative by 2030 and aligns with its strategy to reduce Scope 3 emissions and invest in new clean energy solutions.
Powertrust is a renewable energy procurement platform that supports companies in sourcing clean energy to meet their decarbonization targets.
The collaboration will increase distributed solar capacity in Mexico and Brazil, delivering significant community benefits to areas with limited access to clean energy. These benefits include energy bill savings for low-income households and community organizations, creation of local jobs and workforce development through training programs, partnership with local NGOs and community leaders to support inclusive project development and long-term engagement, as well as support for education, healthcare and infrastructure initiatives.
The Orrick team was led by Lana Le Hir and Teresa Hill with support from Monica Molina.
