On November 12, in Copenhagen Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Danish Institute for Parties and Democracy (DIPD), where he had a detailed discussion with representatives of the Danish civil society.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy.
"Armenia is a democracy - a young one, yet a democracy with a firm commitment to the consistent promotion of democratic values and the protection of human rights, and we are greatly interested in developing like-minded partnerships," emphasized Minister Mirzoyan.
Ararat Mirzoyan added that civil society has significant potential and plays an indispensable role both in democratic development and in strengthening peace.
Continuing the topic of peace in the region, Minister Mirzoyan highlighted that the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington with the involvement of the President of the United States, including the initialing of the Peace Agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, are an important milestone, including for promoting stability and connectivity in the South Caucasus and the wider region.
In this context, the Minister presented Armenia's vision on the unblocking of communications, highlighting the practical significance of the "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and its component "Trump's route" program.
The ongoing efforts aimed at addressing humanitarian issues were also touched upon.
During the discussion particular attention was paid to the dynamically deepening partnership and ambitious agenda between Armenia and the European Union, as well as to the development of Armenia-Denmark cooperation at all levels. Views were exchanged on issues of cooperation in strengthening the resilience of democracies, including the sharing experiences and tools in countering hybrid threats.
The Minister answered the questions of interest to the Danish experts.
