WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Don Davis (NC-01)voted to advance H.R. 7006, a bipartisan Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations package funding Financial Services-General Government and National Security-Department of State and Related Programs, with a vote of 341 to 79.
The two-bill package makes targeted FY26 investments to strengthen small businesses, support core government operations, and enhance efforts to combat drug trafficking operations that threaten communities at home. The funding advances $1 billion for the Small Business Administration and $1.4 billion for international narcotics control and law enforcement.
The legislation reflects bipartisan, bicameral collaboration and continues Congress's work to move appropriations bills through regular order. Passage in the House advances the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process as Congress works toward full-year funding.
"At a time when small businesses across our communities are feeling the strain of the current economy, it is more important than ever that the Small Business Administration has the resources it needs to support entrepreneurs, create jobs, and strengthen our local economies in eastern North Carolina," said Congressman Don Davis. "To confront the international drug cartels, we must ensure that the United States and our international law enforcement partners have the tools, coordination, and resources they need to disrupt drug trafficking networks, and keep eastern North Carolinians safe."
