City of Garden Grove and Garden Grove Sanitary District Waste Collection Disruption Concludes

The labor-related demonstrations that disrupted waste collection in the Garden Grove Sanitary District have concluded, and Republic Services will resume normal commercial and residential trash pickup. Republic Services expects to have all service fully back on schedule by mid-week.

"Trash collection is a service our residents rely on, and I know how frustrating these delays have been. Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep Garden Grove clean," said Mayor Stephanie Klopfenstein.

Residents are encouraged to place their carts at the curb on their regular collection day and leave them out until service occurs. Due to curbside service restarting citywide, the temporary waste collection sites have closed.

While service is restored, Republic Services may prioritize regular trash collection first, followed by organic waste carts. Questions can be directed to Republic Services at (714) 238-3300.

The City will continue to provide updates as needed. For the latest information, visit https://ggcity.org/pw/trash-recycling or download the Garden Grove App and enable notifications.
