Boston, MA - March 23, 2026 - New Balance officially unveiled the Rev X and Rev iQ football cleats during its inaugural Kickoff Event at The TRACK at New Balance this weekend, marking a new chapter in the brand's football journey. Designed as an annual tentpole moment, the event brought together New Balance athletes, partners and the public to celebrate performance innovation, the future of the game and the brand's expanding presence in football - including the announcement of Jalen Milroe as the newest member of the New Balance football roster.
New Balance Kickoff featured immersive product experiences, on-field skill sessions and conversations with current and former athletes, alongside a celebration of the brand's recently announced relationship with the New England Patriots.
New Balance Welcomes Jalen Milroe to Its Football Roster
During a Fireside Chat with sports broadcaster Maria Taylor, New Balance announced Jalen Milroe as the newest addition to its football roster.
Growing up in Katy, Texas, Jalen's journey has been defined by excellence on and off the field. A two-year starter for Alabama and recipient of the William V. Campbell Trophy - often referred to as the "Academic Heisman" - Jalen was later drafted by Seattle, becoming part of their championship-winning roster.
Beyond performance, Jalen is deeply committed to giving back. He spends every Tuesday visiting the local Children's Hospital, coaches a 7-on-7 team in Alabama and hosts four football camps annually for more than 1,000 kids, using his platform to inspire and support the next generation of athletes.
As a New Balance athlete, Jalen will play an active role in wear-testing and developing new football product, providing direct feedback and working with the New Balance product team. He will also be featured in performance and lifestyle campaigns across the brand.
Introducing the Rev X and Rev iQ
The introduction of the all-new Rev X and Rev iQ redefines the balance between comfort, speed and performance.
The Rev X is engineered for elite skill-position players who rely on explosive movement and precision. Built with FitWeave, a stretch-woven TPU fabric, the upper molds to the foot for a snug, secure feel with adaptive stretch exactly where it's needed. An anatomically engineered design delivers a personalized-feeling fit, while a firm, responsive nylon soleplate supports sharp cuts and multi-directional explosiveness at top speed.
The Rev iQ offers a trusted fit right out of the box. A low-cut collar and gusseted tongue create a locked-in feel, while a flexible soleplate and strategically layered stretch zones allow the foot to move naturally during downhill breaks, route transitions and breakaway separation toward the end zone.
The Rev X and Rev iQ are available now for the suggested retail price of $170 and $130, with additional colorways releasing throughout the season.
A Day for Community, Conversation and the Game
The event began with a community youth session, welcoming local kids for football activities led by New England Patriots Youth Coaches. Designed to foster confidence, teamwork and a love for the game, the session celebrated the shared values behind the New Balance and Patriots relationship and their commitment to growing the sport with young athletes.
Later in the day, Maria Taylor moderated a series of conversations bringing together multiple generations of the game. In a panel discussion, current Patriots player Milton Williams joined Patriots legends Tedy Bruschi and Danny Amendola to reflect on legacy, leadership and representing football in New England.
Maria also sat down with New Balance athletes Chase Young, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jeremiyah Love and Jalen Milroe for a Football Council focused on the current state of the game and the role brands can play in driving meaningful progress within football.
To close out the day, New Balance athletes led an on-field wear-test experience, giving participants the opportunity to test the Rev X and Rev iQ in football-specific drills and gameplay scenarios. The session highlighted the performance benefits of the cleats in real-time -showcasing speed, control and comfort.
