The community's support of the 2026 Oso Fit 5K Fun Run and Community Health Fair helped to raise more than $39,700 for local nonprofits - further strengthening the positive impact of this growing community tradition.
Hosted by the City and the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce last month, this year's celebration was the largest in the event's history. Thanks to dedicated local runners, race registration reached an all-time high with 1,413 participants. The 5K Fun Run welcomed 1,228 runners and 185 enthusiastic young athletes joined the Kids' Run.
Participants of all ages filled the scenic Oso Creek Trail, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere from start to finish. To view race results and photos, visit osofit5k.org/event-results.
The City is grateful to everyone who took part in this event, which is part of this year's celebration of the nation's 250th anniversary. The patriotic spirit was on full display with red, white, and blue woven throughout the festivities, making the day even more meaningful.
Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors and vendor partners who help cover costs with the event, the planning committee is able to donate 100 percent of race registration proceeds directly to local nonprofit organizations. This year 50 local nonprofits participated in the program.
