Question for written answer E-000634/2026
to the Commission
Rule 144
Cynthia Ní Mhurchú (Renew)

What progress has been made following Petition No. 0986/2023 by John Vandeput on behalf of EuroLyme, presented on 7 April 2025 before Parliament's Committee on Petitions, regarding (1) the three proposals put forward by MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú and MEP Sandra Gómez López (the establishment of a working group, the exchange of best practice, and the creation of a databank of infected persons), (2) the request by the Committee Chair for independent oversight of Borrelia blood tests by manufacturers, and (3) the evaluation by European institutions of newer and evolved Lyme disease blood tests in a manner that convincingly demonstrates their expected usefulness to medical professionals, given that the Commission's further reply of 3 November 2025 (Notice to Members, Chapter 4) did not address the petition's substantive arguments?
