Wittman Announces 2026 Congressional Art Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-01) announced that the 2026 Congressional Art Competition is officially open to all high school students in Virginia's First District. The nationwide contest provides young artists with a unique opportunity to highlight their creativity, with the first-place artwork earning a yearlong display in the U.S. Capitol.

All submissions must be received by Monday, April 27, 2026.

"The Congressional Art Competition is a great way to highlight the incredible artistic talents of students in the First District and across the nation," said Rep. Wittman. "I encourage all young artists in the District to participate in this year's competition and look forward to seeing their creativity on display."

The top winner will have their artwork exhibited in the U.S. Capitol alongside other winning entries from across the United States. The winner will also be invited to attend a special reception in Washington, D.C., in recognition of their accomplishment.

Eligible submissions include paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media pieces, computer-generated artwork, and photography. All entries must be original in concept, design, and execution and must comply with U.S. copyright laws.

Students may submit their artwork by emailing [email protected] or by delivering their pieces to one of the congressman's district offices listed below:
