Press briefing on this week’s plenary session

European Parliament's spokespersons will hold a last-minute briefing on the 5 - 8 May plenary session today at 16.30.

When: Monday 5 May at 16.30

  • Debate on and vote on Parliament's priorities for the next long-term budget for the EU
  • Debate on US trade measures and global trade opportunities for the EU
  • Debate on EU contribution to a just peace deal for Ukraine
  • Vote on more flexibility on CO2 emission performance standards for new cars and vans
  • Vote on rules to prevent security risks arising from foreign investments in the EU
  • Debate and vote on greater flexibility in gas storage refilling to address market and bring down prices
  • Commemoration of the end of the World War II in Europe

  • Debate with Kaja Kallas on EU-Türkiye relations, followed by a vote
