Placer/Nevada Counties - Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane and ramp closures in multiple locations along Interstate 80 (I-80) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.
Motorists will experience delays with each project. If traveling across the entire corridor, the cumulative delay may reach up to two hours depending on traffic volumes. Caltrans encourages motorists to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor and check QuickMap for real-time roadway information.
Here is the breakdown for next week in geographical order:
Eastbound I-80

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Applegate and Weimar Cross Road, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Monday, July 6 through 6 a.m. Friday, July 10.

Alta Pavement Improvement Project, in Colfax various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 7 through Thursday, July 9 and from 2 a.m. to noon Friday, July 10.

Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, July 6 through 10 a.m. Friday, July 10.

Crystal Springs on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to Baxter and return westbound on I-80 to Crystal Springs.

Drum Forebay on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to the next available exit and return westbound on I-80 to Drum Forebay.

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project, between the Whitmore Maintenance Station and Emigrant Gap, various lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Monday, July 6 through 6 a.m. Friday, July 10.

Blue Canyon Road is scheduled to be closed starting at midnight Monday, July 6 through midnight Saturday, July 11.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project, at Rainbow various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9.

Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Troy and Soda Springs, various lane closures are scheduled around the clock starting at 6 a.m. Monday, July 6 through noon Friday, July 10.
Westbound I-80

Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project, the off-ramp at Yuba Gap is closed until further notice due to the crossover in place along westbound I-80. Motorists will detour westbound to the Emigrant Gap exit and return eastbound on I-80 to Yuba Gap.

Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project between Blue Canyon and the Whitmore Maintenance Station, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9.

Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Drum Forebay and Monte Vista, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10. Work is also scheduled from 7 p.m. Friday, July 10 through 9 a.m. Saturday, July 11.

Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project, between Weimar Cross Road and Applegate, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. Monday, July 6 through 6 a.m. Friday, July 10.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of construction and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
