Georgia DOT awards $120.1 million in December
ATLANTA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) awarded a total of 22 projects valued at approximately $120.1 million at the monthly State Transportation Board meeting held in December. An additional project from November 21, 2025, was also awarded. Contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on January 2, 2026, January 7, 2026, and January 9, 2026.
The largest single investment construction project, valued at approximately $27.8 million, proposes 1.950 miles of widening and reconstruction for passing lanes on State Route (SR) 120 beginning at
North Point Parkway and extending to Kimball Bridge Road in Fulton County. It also proposes construction of two bridges and approaches over Big Creek in Fulton County. This contract and five other construction projects total approximately $66.8 million, representing 55 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest resurfacing contract, valued at approximately $12.1 million, proposes 3.695 miles of milling, inlay, and plant mix resurfacing on I-85/SR 403 beginning north of Old Peachtree Road and extending to MP 113 in Gwinnett County. This contract and nine other resurfacing projects total approximately $30.9 million and represent 26 percent of the total funds awarded.
The largest safety contract, valued at approximately $18 million, proposes intersection improvements at various locations on SR 20 in Walton County. This contract and two other safety projects total approximately $19 million and represent 16 percent of the total funds awarded.
There are three bridge rehabilitation contracts from the announcement totaling approximately $3.4 million which represent the remaining 3 percent of the total funds awarded. The largest project is valued at approximately $1.5 million and proposes bridge rehabilitation at various locations in Gwinnett County.
The awarded construction project from the deferred November 21, 2025 letting proposes 0.511 mile of construction of a bridge and approaches on US 1 BU/US 23 BU/SR 4 BU over CSX Railroad #637621H in Ware County. This project is valued at approximately $43.8 million.

Bids for Design-Bid-Build projects were received on December 19, 2025, and two deferred announcements on November 21, 2025, and December 19, 2025. Contracts were awarded to the lowest qualified bidders on January 2, 2026, January 7, 2026, and January 9, 2026.
The December awards bring the total construction contracts for Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, to approximately $1.7 billion. This total includes TIA, Design-Bid-Build, and locally administered projects. Fiscal Year 2026 will conclude June 30, 2026.
