DeLauro Statement on Latest Trump Effort to Strip Health Coverage from Americans
Today, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro released a statement in response to an effort spearheaded by Vice President J.D. Vance to strip health coverage away from 750,000 Americans:
"16 million people will lose their health insurance because of the Trump Administration's cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. Now, the Trump Administration wants to strip coverage from 750,000 more.
"Families are already squeezed. Gas prices are skyrocketing. Diesel prices are climbing. Grocery costs were already high. Health care costs were rising, and now, millions of Americans won't have coverage at all.
"President Trump pledged to fight for working and middle-class Americans. Not only has he failed, he's launched a full scale assault on working people and their pocket books while handing out tax breaks, government contracts, and pardons to his billionaire backers."
