The University of Oklahoma is scheduled to host six home football games during the 2026 season. The Norman Police Department encourages residents and visitors to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and be aware of temporary traffic restrictions and parking regulations around the university and Campus Corner.

DRIVING

Motorists are encouraged to review the attached traffic maps before arriving in Norman and identify the recommended route based on their parking destination.

Norman police will provide traffic assistance along Lindsey Street from Interstate 35 to Elm Avenue before and after the game. After the game, officers will also assist with traffic along routes heading east from the stadium to South Classen Boulevard and along James Garner Avenue from Eufaula Street to Flood Avenue.

Lindsey Street will be one-way eastbound before the game and one-way westbound after the game from Elm Avenue to Berry Road to improve traffic flow between the stadium and Interstate 35.

Brooks Street will be one-way eastbound after the game from Jenkins Avenue to Classen Boulevard. Jenkins Avenue will also be one-way northbound from Brooks Street to Boyd Street.

Several roads will be closed or restricted before and after each game, including:

• Boyd Street between University Boulevard and Jenkins Avenue;
• Elm Avenue between Parsons Street and Lindsey Street;
• Lindsey Street between Elm Avenue and Lincoln Avenue;
• Jenkins Avenue between Stinson Street and Page Street;
• Asp Avenue from 1st Street to the OU Student Armory near the stadium; and
• White Street, Buchanan Avenue and Asp Avenue near Campus Corner.

Campus Corner closures begin four hours before kickoff and remain in place for several hours after the game. Those tailgating in these areas should plan accordingly when setting up and cleaning up their tailgate areas.

Ongoing construction on Jenkins Avenue between Lindsey Street and Imhoff Avenue may result in lane closures, route modifications and additional delays.

Motorists should review the traffic maps before traveling and should not rely solely on navigation apps. Navigation apps may not reflect temporary game-day road closures, traffic-control measures or significant delays.

As always, make safety a priority. Buckle up all passengers and never drive while impaired by alcohol, drugs or any other substance.

Motorists and pedestrians should also remain alert around railroad crossings. Never cross railroad tracks by vehicle or on foot once crossing signals have been activated, and never climb on, under or around a stopped train.

PARKING

Areas immediately surrounding the University of Oklahoma campus and Campus Corner will be barricaded in several locations, restricting vehicle access and/or parking. Parking adjacent to the stadium is by permit only.

Visitors should park legally and avoid common parking violations that may result in their vehicle being towed or impounded. These violations include:

• Parking along yellow curbs or in fire lanes;
• Blocking a fire hydrant, driveway, street or alley;
• Parking in a designated accessible parking space without the required permit or placard;
• Parking on railroad rights-of-way; and
• Parking illegally on private property.

If parking on private property, use a location you know is legitimate. NPD occasionally receives reports of individuals collecting money for parking on private property they do not own or lease. Vehicles parked without the property owner's or lessee's permission may be subject to towing.

Do not block sidewalks. Blocked sidewalks can force pedestrians into the street and create accessibility and safety concerns, particularly for people with limited mobility and children.

Vehicles parked illegally, blocking traffic or creating a safety hazard are subject to being towed or impounded. If you believe your vehicle has been impounded, you can call the wrecker companies directly to retrieve your vehicle.

PEDICABS

Pedicabs are not permitted within restricted areas or on closed roads, including Boyd Street between the designated road closures.

When operating on an open roadway, pedicabs may not stop or park in traffic lanes. Operators must keep roadways unobstructed when loading, unloading or waiting for passengers.

Pedicab operators must comply with all applicable traffic laws, including lighting requirements, traffic signals, road closures and one-way traffic directions. Violations may result in a traffic citation.

Pedicabs are required to be licensed through the City of Norman. Information about transportation licensing and business licensing is available on the City of Norman website.

OU GAME DAY INFORMATION

Those attending an OU football game should review the OU Football Game Day Guide and download all tickets and parking passes before arriving in Norman.

Cell service may be limited in crowded areas, which can result in delays or prevent visitors from accessing tickets or parking information. Download necessary information before arriving.

DRONE USAGE

Unauthorized drone operations are prohibited on game days. Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are also in effect.

Violators of the TFR could face federal penalties including fines, felony charges, or potential jail time, along with the seizure of the drone and supporting equipment.
