County Commissioners recognize MAST student
upon selection for Wild Whales Voyage expedition

FREEHOLD, NJ - The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners praised Cooper Pollack, a junior at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST), for his participation in the prestigious Wild Whales Voyage organized by Deep Green during a Sept. 25 Workshop Meeting.

"My fellow Commissioners and I are honored to celebrate Cooper's selection for this prestigious voyage promoting marine conservation and leadership," said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone. "This highly selective, three-week expedition accepted only six students from across the country. Cooper sailed aboard the 84-foot schooner Orion through the Salish Sea and Johnstone Strait, off the coast of British Columbia, Canada. He participated in field research focused on cetacean ecology, studying marine mammals such as orcas, humpback whales, harbor porpoises, and minke whales."

"Cooper's selection for this prestigious program highlights the exceptional preparation MCVSD provides its students to excel and earn distinctions like this," said Commissioner Dominick "Nick" DiRocco, liaison to the MCVSD. "It reflects the dedication of our students, their families, as well as the commitment of our staff and administration. We congratulate Cooper on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors."
