Ascension Saint Thomas Caregivers Brave Winter Storm to Serve Patients

When winter weather made roads impassable in late January, Ascension Saint Thomas caregivers proved that service does not stop for snow and ice, especially when patients are counting on us.

As severe conditions blanketed Middle Tennessee, more than 400 team members stayed overnight in our hospitals to ensure uninterrupted access to critical care. Others found creative and courageous ways to get to work when cars could not. Some pulled suitcases through downtown Nashville in the dark. Others walked through snow and freezing temperatures, determined to reach their patients no matter the obstacles.

Every one of them chose service.

This extraordinary display of commitment, leadership and compassion ensured our community could depend on Ascension Saint Thomas when it mattered most and reminded us what it truly means to care for others.
