Four Key Findings From the 2025 Eagleview AI Impact &...

Despite AI's proliferation, many professionals remain unclear about its use in their day-to-day workflows. That's why in early 2025, Eagleview issued the 2025 AI Impact & Adoption Survey: to get a clear picture of how teams are using AI, where they are in the adoption journey, and how they plan to proceed.

After analyzing more than 100 responses from professionals across the U.S. and Canada, it's clear that leaders in industries like government, construction, insurance and utilities are optimistic about AI's potential in aerial imagery, geospatial analysis, and data-driven decision-making-but they're also looking for guidance.

The resulting report is a deep dive into the attitudes and adoption trends around AI, as shared by respondents. Four key takeaways stand above the rest, highlighting how organizations are thinking about AI and why now is the time to build your strategy for successful AI adoption.

1. Optimism Is High, but Practical Use Is Still Catching Up

Many professionals see promise in AI, with the majority of respondents (71%) feeling either very excited or cautiously optimistic about AI's role in their industry. When asked about the benefits they believe AI tools will deliver, top responses were:

  • Improved accuracy (24%)
  • Faster decision-making (22%)
  • Greater field team efficiency (21%)
  • Cost reductions from automation (18%)

While this enthusiasm is promising, adoption is still early. 59% of respondents said between zero and five people at their organization use AI, and only 5% reported 50 or more active users. Clearly, many professionals are still exploring how (and where) AI fits into their daily workflows.

2. Lack of Familiarity Is the Biggest Barrier

Many professionals feel like they're still sitting on the sidelines when it comes to AI. A majority (65%) of respondents reported being either "not very" or "not at all" familiar with AI's uses for aerial intelligence, signifying that most organizations are still in a learning phase.

Other barriers slowing AI adoption included:

  • Lack of internal expertise (43%)
  • Cost of implementation (19%)
  • Data privacy and security concerns (13%)
  • Unclear ROI from AI investments (9%)

Interest in AI is high, but it's evident that many teams working with geospatial data haven't identified practical entry points yet.

There's a strong opportunity for early adopters to build experience and see returns while others are in evaluation stages of the adoption journey.

3. Accuracy and Trust Are Top Priorities

Respondents were direct on what matters most when it comes to adopting AI: accuracy. 66% of professionals said their biggest concern is the accuracy of AI-powered insights, which is especially important in geospatial work where aerial data helps guide infrastructure planning and safety decisions.

Accuracy also topped the list of criteria teams use when evaluating AI solutions:

  • Accuracy and reliability of AI insights (59%)
  • Cost-effectiveness and ROI (58%)
  • Ease of integration with existing systems (45%)

These priorities underscore how important it is for AI solutions to produce not just fast results, but accurate and dependable ones. Teams are focused on minimizing risks, adding measurable value, and choosing tools that will integrate smoothly with their current workflows.

4. Investment Plans Are Coming Into Focus

Even though adoption is still in early stages, many organizations are preparing to increase AI investments over the next two years. 39% of survey respondents expect their organization's budget for AI solutions to increase, while only 6% believe it will decrease.

When asked which AI capabilities they're most interested in adopting over the next few years, respondents prioritized:

  • Enhanced geospatial analytics and mapping (50%)
  • Advanced change detection & predictive insights (46%)
  • AI-powered remote property assessments (43%)

These priorities suggest that professionals aren't just curious about AI's uses in aerial intelligence-they're actively identifying ways it can help them work more efficiently and get better results from the imagery and data they already rely on.

Where Are You on the AI Adoption Spectrum?

AI adoption is a growing, strategic priority. We've highlighted how professionals are actively exploring practical use cases, setting investment goals, and evaluating what they need to use AI effectively in their operations. Whether you're planning fieldwork, managing infrastructure projects, or making data-informed decisions, now's the time to take advantage of the benefits of AI.

As with all new technologies, there's a clear spectrum to adoption. No matter where you are in your journey, insights from the Eagleview 2025 AI Impact and Adoption Report can help you assess your current strategy, benchmark against the market, and plan for what's to come.
