The community is invited to commemorate and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in this national day of service. Community members of all ages are welcome to attend. The event includes a free community breakfast and an engaging discussion.

The discussion will be moderated by WWU alumnus William Jackson, director of Teaching and Learning at the Bellevue School District and 2024 Washington State Principal of the Year.
The event MCs include students from Western Washington University and Happy Valley Elementary.
The event concludes with opportunities for attendees to join together in community and make tie blankets for those in need. An additional community service opportunity is being offered by Bellingham Parks and Recreation. (Registration is required).
All attendees are encouraged to bring unopened, non-perishable food and hygiene items to the event. All donations will support the food pantries at Western Washington University, Bellingham Technical College, Whatcom Community College, and Northwest Indian College.
This free community event is made possible through collaboration of 10 community partners that make up the Community Coalition for Cultural Recognitions. Community members of all ages are welcome.
