MVAA veteran service officer available at new Ionia County Veterans Services Office

IONIA, Mich. - A Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) veteran service officer (VSO) is now available to assist veterans and their families at the new Ionia County Veterans Services Office. U.S. Army veteran, Austin Ramey, will be in Ionia County weekly to provide support and guidance for veterans and their dependents with connecting to their earned benefits.

"We are proud to partner with Ionia County by having MVAA VSO Austin Ramey provide services as the county establishes its Veterans Services Office," said MVAA VSO manager Stefanie MacDonald. "This partnership allows veterans to receive experienced, accredited assistance from day one while helping the county build a strong local program for years to come."

Accredited VSOs assist veterans and their families with applying for U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits they earned through their service to the nation. VSOs can also conduct benefits reviews to help ensure veterans are receiving everything to which they are entitled.

Committed to helping veterans, transitioning service members and their dependents navigate federal, state and local benefits, Ramey is accepting appointments at the Ionia County Veterans Services Office as well as the Wyoming U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) and Trinity Health Grand Rapids.
