Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed at Kariong last night following a road rage incident.
About 8.00pm last night (Thursday 14 November 2024), emergency services were called to James Russell Drive at Kariong, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attended and established a crime scene at the location.
Police were told a 42-year-old man was assaulted by two men following a road rage incident.
During the altercation, one of the men produced a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen.
The two men left in what is believed to be a blue Commodore sedan before the arrival of police.
The injured man managed to drive in his car to a nearby residence, before collapsing.
He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being conveyed by ambulance under police escort to Gosford hospital in a critical condition.
As inquiries into the incident are ongoing, police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision in the vicinity of the M1 or James Russell Drive at Kariong, to come forward.
