City receives submittals for potential development of downtown parking

Published on April 07, 2025

The City of Menlo Park received seven submittals from development teams in response to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for development on City-owned Parking Plazas 1, 2 and/or 3.

The following entities submitted their qualifications:

  • Alliant Communities
  • Eden Housing
  • MidPen Housing
  • Path Ventures
  • Presidio Bay Ventures
  • Related California and Alta Housing
  • The Pacific Companies and West Development Partners

The RFQ sought interest from experienced developers to construct an affordable housing and/or mixed-use development and replacement public parking for downtown businesses and visitors on any combination of the three lots. Housing remains one of the City Council's top priorities. Development on the downtown parking lots implements the City's Housing Element goals to provide housing opportunities across the City at all income levels.

City staff is reviewing the submittals and will present recommended next steps to the City Council, tentatively in May 2025. Throughout the process, there will continue to be multiple opportunities for community input. You're invited to provide feedback on the submittals through this form.
