Beginning at 7 am on Monday, April 7, sidewalk work will begin on W Garden Street from S Laramie Street to S Ligonier Street. The work is necessary as part of the 61605 Zip Code Sidewalk and ADA Ramps Improvement Project.

The project will install and replace sidewalks and ADA ramps throughout the 61605 zip code. Locations were selected to help better improve connectivity for students walking to Manual High School.

The project is being funded by a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that was secured by former U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos.
