On October 16, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, led a delegation to South Africa and visited the African Risk Capacity(ARC)Group. He held discussions with its Chairperson Dr. Mothae Anthony Maruping.
Amb. Jiang stated that China, guided by the four major initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, including the Global Governance Initiative, will actively implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. China will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with ARC Group, support Africa in enhancing its climate adaptation capacity, and help achieve the goals of the African Union's Agenda 2063 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Maruping warmly welcomed Amb. Jiang's visit and stated that ARC Group is committed to helping African countries strengthen their risk response capacity building. He expressed anticipation for close cooperation with China in areas such as disaster early warning, risk management, capacity training, and personnel exchanges to achieve shared prosperity and development.
