WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Jim Risch today released the following statement celebrating the groundbreaking of the Boise State Veterans Home's new skilled nursing care replacement facility.

"I am proud to have worked with Secretary Collins to see that this modernization project moved forward for Idaho's veterans. These brave men and women risked everything for our freedoms; they should never have to fight for support from our government," said Risch. "President Trump and I share the conviction that our commitment to veterans is one of America's first and most important duties. This new facility is a testament to that commitment and will serve as a place where our veterans can receive the care and respect they rightfully deserve."

The new replacement home, which will provide Idaho veterans with modernized care and resources, was stalled for two years under the Biden administration. Earlier this year, Senator Risch worked with President Trump's Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) Doug Collins to secure a waiver allowing the project to proceed.

Senator Risch will continue to work with Secretary Collins and President Trump to secure waivers for modernization projects at the Pocatello and Lewiston State Veterans Homes.?
