Five Penn State Altoona soccer players receive CSC academic honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - A total of five Penn State Altoona soccer student-athletes were recognized by the College Sports Communicators for their academics, when the CSC announced its 2024 NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

To be eligible for a spot on an Academic All-District team, student-athletes must meet certain academic and athletic requirements. Academically, student-athletes must be at least sophomores while holding cumulative grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher. Athletically, players must be starters or key reserves who have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games, or started 75 percent of the games. Nominators could submit up to six qualified student-athletes per team.

One Penn State Altoona men's soccer student-athlete and four women's soccer student-athletes were named to the CSC's NCAA Division III Academic All-District teams.

Men's Soccer:

  • Defender/midfielder Bailey Musselman, of Altoona, majoring in accounting

Women's Soccer:

  • Goalkeeper Adeline Baustert, of Apollo, majoring in human development and family studies
  • Defender Hannah Brubaker, of San Diego, CA, majoring in kinesiology
  • Defender/midfielder Amanda Hazel, of Clearfield, majoring in kinesiology
  • Forward/midfielder Mallorie Smith, of Bellefonte, majoring in biology
