Derek Neumeyer has joined CDM Smith as a vice president and director of industrial unit business development and strategy. Neumeyer has 29 years of experience in systems engineering, account management, business development and strategy. In his new role, he will lead our teams to expand our project portfolio with key industrial clients.

Previously, Neumeyer was a vice president and global key account manager at a large oil and gas services company. Additionally, he worked as a program manager at NASA for 17 years doing hardware development for the Shuttle and Space Station, and led the last project required before the Space Shuttle could return to flight. Neumeyer has led the development of multiple, winning billion-dollar-bid proposals, and his extensive experience will allow him to apply system engineering principles crucial for addressing systems integration, life cycle issues and systems thinking in today's market.
Derek's leadership, extensive experience in systems engineering and expertise in account management will further strengthen CDM Smith's industrial unit business development.
Jennifer Hooper, Industrial Unit President
Neumeyer has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master's degree in systems engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He was recognized with a Platinum Award in his previous role and received a NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal.
