BOISE - The Idaho Transportation Department has appointed Todd Hubbard as ITD Chief Operations Officer.
In this role, Hubbard will oversee ITD's six statewide districts and their respective district engineers.
"I'm excited to step into this role and lead our districts," Hubbard said. "We have a lot of great work underway and an incredible team that makes it happen every day. I'm looking forward to building on the strong foundation ITD has created and continuing to move our vision of 'Enhancing quality of life through transportation' forward together."
Hubbard has worked at ITD for more than 15 years. Hubbard began his career with the department in South-Central Idaho (District 4) in May 2009 after graduating from Idaho State University. He completed the department's Engineer-in-Training program and earned his Professional Engineering license in December 2013.
Hubbard was later promoted to lead the Planning Section in District 4. Since 2019, Hubbard has been serving as the District Engineer in Pocatello.
As District Engineer, Hubbard has led numerous major infrastructure improvements over the last six years, including the replacement of the I-86/I-15 System Interchange, the I-15 Northgate to Fort Hall expansion, and the Inkom Corridor bridge projects.
ITD Chief Deputy Dave Kuisti said he has been impressed with Hubbard's ability to adapt and overcome challenges.
"Todd jumped right in and has kept District 5 performing at a high level these past 6-plus years to administer a record-breaking project workload."
"Todd's ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems, while listening and understanding all concerns, make him the right person for this role. I am eager for Todd to get started as the department works its way through important district-management changes that are important for our continued success."
