Wallflower Market LA Celebrates Grand Opening With Popup Market in the Artsakh Paseo

Glendale, CA - Glendale's highly successful Artsakh Creative Retail Accelerator Program is building on its momentum with a first-ever pop-up retail experience to be held on Artsakh Paseo. The event, Wallflower on Artsakh, will take place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Kat Hanegraaf, founder of Wallflower Market LA, one of Artsakh's new tenants, is leading the event by bringing together a vibrant and eclectic collection of local makers and artisans who will share their products and services for sale.

Additionally, Hanegraaf is planning some fun events throughout the day, including a Doggie Kissing Booth where visitors can have Valentine's photos taken of their pooch by Ragtag Photo Co. Adoptable dogs from a local animal rescue, through The Dog Coalition, will also be on site, ready to meet their new parents.

According to Hanegraaf, there will be 16 makers and artisans at the Wallflower on Artsakh event, offering items such as piercings, tarot readings, mini photo shoots, live portraits, ceramics, candles, fresh baked goods, jewelry, and other gifts that are perfect for your Valentine's Day shopping needs. Ten percent of sales will benefit The Dog Coalition, a nonprofit organization. The Dog Coalition Los Angeles (DCLA) is dedicated to matching shelter dogs with their most compatible humans, transforming their lives through fostering and adoption, and advancing animal welfare reform.

Now in its fifth phase, Glendale's Artsakh Creative Retail Program supports small business owners looking to grow into brick-and-mortar stores by providing six months of free rent in city-owned units on the Artsakh Paseo. Current tenants include The Glendale Room, Paperback Brewing, No Easy Props hip hop studio, along with Wallflower Market, a photography studio and storefront promoting unique retailers.

The Accelerator Program was founded in 2021 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many small businesses were struggling to survive. Since its inception, it has been recognized by the California Association for Local Economic Development and the American Planning Association for its innovative approach to helping launch new businesses.
