Prime Minister Andrey Gurov spoke with the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Paris. They discussed matters concerning security and measures to contain rising prices in consequence of the situation in the Middle East. The discussion focused, inter alia, on the challenges that may arise from a possible deterioration of the situation in the region. The two prime ministers agreed that further expansion of the excellent bilateral and regional cooperation is of key importance so that the two countries may meet such challenges as best prepared as possible.

During the discussion Prime Minister Andrey Gurov highly appreciated the prompt and positive response of Greece to Bulgaria's request for support in air defense as agreed between the ministers of defense Atanas Zapryanov and Nikos Dendias. "Your support is an example of European and neighbor-to-neighbor solidarity at a crucial moment. We see Greece as a very close partner that shares our values and that faces similar regional challenges. This partnership covers a wide range of areas - foreign affairs and regional security, energy and transport, digital connectivity and infrastructure," Prime Minister Andrey Gurov said.

At their bilateral meeting, the prime ministers of Bulgaria and Greece also discussed measures to curb the negative impact of the increasing prices of energy sources on world markets on account of the conflict in the Middle East. The two prime ministers stressed the importance of coordinated action to stabilize energy supplies and ensure security in the region.
