NextNav Supports FCC’s Goal to Develop Resilient and Secure PNT Technologies and Solutions

On April 28. 2025, NaxtNav filed comments with the Federal Communications Commission in support of its Notice of Inquiry promoting the development of positioning, navigation, and timing technologies and solutions. NextNav's comments can be found here.

Along with its comments, NextNav released the following statement from CEO Mariam Sorond:

NextNav strongly supports the Commission's efforts to advance a system of systems approach to PNT resiliency. Building true resilience will require multiple terrestrial and space-based solutions. At least one terrestrial solution should rely on market forces to deliver a terrestrial, widescale PNT solution that is broadly available to critical infrastructure, public safety, and consumers, and has a clear path to incorporation in end-user devices.

Now is the time to accelerate work toward resilient, reliable terrestrial alternatives that can serve as a complement and backup to GPS.
