Southern Illinois University Edwardsville students presented original research, creative projects and scholarly work during the University's annual Undergraduate Scholars Showcase held Thursday, April 24 in the Morris University Center.
Sponsored by the Office of the Provost, the event celebrated the depth and variety of student scholarship across disciplines through oral presentations, poster and demonstration sessions and performance. The showcase featured projects from SIUE's Senior Assignment, Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) and Community-Oriented Digital Engagement Scholars (CODES) programs, reflecting the University's commitment to experiential learning, innovation and collaboration.
"I am truly delighted to see the celebration of creativity and talent that is the SIUE Undergraduate Scholars Showcase," said Elza Ibroscheva, PhD, Associate Provost. "The showcase is a vibrant reflection of our students' curiosity, thirst for knowledge, and commitment to discovery. This event highlights our students' outstanding academic achievements and the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines the SIUE community. It is such a joy to see their ideas come to life and to witness the future they are shaping before our eyes."
Held just ahead of commencement and the announcement of URCA award recipients, the Showcase offered undergraduates an opportunity to share their work with the campus community while reflecting the hands-on learning, research and creative experiences that bring classroom knowledge to life at SIUE.
