Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Unveils State-of-the-Art Simulation-Based Healthcare Education Center

Lakewood, NJ - The Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) Foundation recognized long-time friends and generous hospital patrons Fred Van Looy and Barbara Dougherty for their extraordinary support of a new Learning Center inside the hospital on March 24, 2026.

The ceremony opened with remarks by MMCSC Foundation Board of Trustees Chair Robert Sickel, who thanked the couple for their ongoing commitment to MMCSC. "The Fred Van Looy & Barbara Dougherty Learning Center for Interprofessional Education and Simulation will provide ongoing training and hands-on practice to bring the highest level of excellence to our patients," he said. "Continued training is necessary in healthcare and simulation training is a powerful resource."
