For those ready to make an impact in higher education, The University of Toledo offers tailored professional development and upskilling opportunities designed to fit the schedules of working professionals.
Whether you are already working in higher education or looking to enter the field, the Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education provides flexible pathways to help you become a confident, capable leader.
The college currently offers three distinct graduate programs:
• Certificate in Higher Education Administration: This 100% online program consists of four seven-week courses (12 credit hours) focused on institutional administration and student growth. It is designed for working professionals or graduate students in various fields and can be completed part time in one year.
• Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Higher Education: Designed for aspiring professionals across all areas of higher education, this 100% online program features 10 seven-week courses (30 credit hours) and a culminating project. Students take one class at a time, with part-time completion typically taking two years.
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education Administration: Designed for working professionals and faculty aspiring to grow as scholars and leaders, this program requires 60 credit hours and the completion of a dissertation. It features both synchronous (via video conferencing) and asynchronous course delivery, with research and publishing opportunities supported by the John H. Russel Center for Educational Leadership. It typically takes five to seven years to complete.
